Stukes leads bulldogs by giving Tigers first loss of the young season

Former Select standout scored 10 of his 17 points in the second half, added 5 assists along with 6 rebounds in a huge win over there previously undefeated Clemson Tigers. With this win, the young Bulldogs have already equaled there win total of a year ago going 8-3 so far this year. Things are looking bright for the young Bulldog team. Stukes is a 3 year starter and told the Select coaching staff that he was looking forward to his leadership roll and helping this very young bulldogg team (ranked 17th youngest team in NCAA Division I). He also informed our staff that he received a 3.1 gpa over the first semester and is looking forward to graduating on time. Stukes and the team have to buckle down and continue the success they had against Clemson and hope that will prepare them for there tough SEC schedule. Kepp up the good work Levi!!!

Galloway set to make his mark in league play

Photo: Todd GallowayFormer Baltimore Select standout is ready to make his mark during his final ACC season with the Seminoles. A four year starter at point guard for the Seminoles, Gallwoay is enjoying the leadership roll he has been put into as co-captian. Throughouth his career he has been a tough, hard nose, fast break type player adjusting to an half court offense. This year, the offense has been made for more of an upbeat pace that fits Galloways style. He is very familar with the offense and is willing to help the young players around him learn and get better. Galloway has begun his Senior campaign averaging just over 8 ppg and 3.6 apg. As the tough ACC season begins, he will be called upon for his leadership to help guide the Semonles through tough ACC road games.

It was a hard fought gae vs. Central Connecticut State where All-American Steven Smith proved his worth hitting one acceptional shot after another. Harris finished with 16 points in the contest along with Smiths 41. The explorers have started off strong and look forward to more success not only in the upcoming Big 5 showdown of fellow Philadelphia schools, but also in the tough Atlantic 10 conference play.

The National Prep School Tip-Off is where Harris makes his mark

Local 5th year player Ricky Harris(Calvert Hall) who is now playing at Winchendon Prep, made his presence known at the first big prep school tournament of the season. After scoring 30 points on vs. Center Centereach (Our Savior New American) NY on Friday night and a 31-point effort against Philadelphia (Lutheran) PA in the last game of the tournament on Sunday afternoon. Harris also hit 19-41 field goals, 6-13 3-pointers, and 17-20 free throws, when you combine the two games. In other words, Harris, who also is an excellent athlete, intense hardnosed competitor, and has a great nose for being in the right place at the right time to make the play, is a prolific scorer and a 2-guard all the way, which is why he's getting the most interest from schools like George Washington, St. Johns, UMASS, St. Bonaventure, George Mason, Loyola-Maryland, Rhode Island, James Madison, and Tulane. Here are the HOOPSCOOP Rankings of the players in the Tournament:

Spruill decides to stay close to home and signs with the Tigers

Photo: Rodney SpruillAfter taking all 5 of his official visits to perspective schools, the 2004 Baltimore City Player of the Year decides to stay home to attend Towson University. Towson Assistant Coach Eric Skeeters played a big part in the decision after heavily recruiting Rodney all summer long. Rodney had offers on the table from LaSalle, George Mason, Kent State, Colorado, Nebraska and Marshall with high interest from Boston College and St. Johns. After the final visit at Towson, Spruill felt that Towson was the place for him to continue his education. Rodney will move into the wing spot at Towson and he will be fighting for the starting position as a freshman. Congratulations Rodney!!!!!
